As we entered 2025, we were starting to compile a calendar of speaking engagements on
Saints in the Great War.
One talk – to the Surrey branch of the Western Front Association – has already been booked for November, while two others are under discussion, from a tentative suggestion
from Southampton Solent University to two firm invitations, although with dates yet to be agreed:
- The ARC, formerly The Discovery Centre, the performance centre in Winchester where we Hagiologists last ‘performed’ in 2014, as we began to research, and write about, the Saints at War.
- The Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire, where old Tauntonian, Eric Ryder, trained for his commission into the Isle of Wight Rifles.
